The driver's control input: TRIAC/phase-cut, 0–10V, or DALI.
The edge type for phase-cut dimming: trailing-edge (reverse phase) is generally the safer partner for LEDs; leading-edge needs a confirmed match.
The dimmer's minimum load against your connected downlight wattage.
The manufacturer's compatibility list for the exact dimmer and driver pair.
